The author points to the crucial role of the Codex Assemanianus in resolving the fundamental problem of Cyrillo-Methodian translation of the Gospels. The textological analysis of some readings reveals a deep understanding of the complexities of Greek Gospels and of its Semitic background. It also implies a certain exegetical independence of the Slavic version.
